Five years after the release of his fourth and last EP, François Ier is back with Mathusalem, his debut album.
This first opus, very personal and essentially instrumental, reflects a panel of extremely varied influences and was conceived in the concern not to be anchored in a specific time and musical style, nor intended for a well targeted public.
In the continuity of the releases having preceded it, Mathusalem is imbued with a form of melancholy, sometimes deep, sometimes joyful, sometimes contemplative, sometimes dancing and occasionnaly striving to combine both of these criteria.
If its conception was spread out over several years in an intermittent way, François took care to preserve a form of sound homogeneity on this opus, which draws in a quasi-systematic way in sonorities resulting from emblematic synthesizers of the Seventies and Eighties and sometimes former.

Cinq ans après la sortie de son quatrième et dernier EP, François Ier revient avec Mathusalem, son tout premier album.
Ce premier opus, très personnel et essentiellement instrumental, reflète un panel d’influences extrêmement variées et a été conçu dans le souci de ne pas être ancré dans une époque et un style musical spécifique, ni destiné à un public bien ciblé.
Dans la continuité des sorties l’ayant précédé, Mathusalem est empreint d’une forme de mélancolie, tantôt grave, tantôt joyeuse, et fait état d’une musique parfois contemplative, parfois dansante et s’évertuant par moments à associer ces deux critères.
Si sa conception s’est étalée sur plusieurs années de manière intermittente, François a veillé à conserver une forme d’homogénéité sonore sur cet opus, qui puise de manière quasi-systématique dans des sonorités issues de synthétiseurs emblématiques des années 70 et 80 et parfois antérieures.
